Rescue Pup

Did you know that black dogs are least likely to get adopted because they're always overlooked?

I don't know how anyone could look at the animals in shelters and choose not to do something about it.
Whether its adopting an animal or donating a bag of dog food, there's something that everyone can do to help these beautiful creatures.

Shop Local

I love supporting all of the locally owned businesses around Chicago.
I'm so happy and proud to live in a city that cares so much about its people :)

More Vintage Finds

Okay, these are two of my favorites!

I found some awesome Girl Scouts telescopic camping cups.
I'm obsessed with collapsing cups, so these I'm super excited about.

I also found a pair of pretty cool industrial light cages.
Industrial. Light. Cages.
oh my gosh.

Vintage Finds!

I was so happy with the little finds that I snatched this weekend!

This gorgeous vintage horse planter is going to look perfect on my window with a few little forget-me-nots inside :)

Hedgehog measuring spoons.
{Need I say more}.

I love the little details on this vintage jean jacket. I often times find jean jackets look a little funny on me so this one has the perfect flare that I needed.

Frank Lloyd Wright

Since today was such a terrible, cloudy, icky day.... I decided to work on some things around the house.
It was during this time that I took a minute to appreciate how lovely my home is.

As you may or may not know, I love Frank Lloyd Wright, and I was blessed to find this home with FLW inspired details already there :)

{And of course there is the added junky, vintage mirror to add to the charm}

Happy weekend.

Running around the city

It's a cloudy, cool day which makes it the perfect day to go for a longgg run.
{Not that every day isn't the perfect day for a run because it is}

I'm thinking that Millennium Park is the perfect place to run to.
Perfect, perfect day :)

So I'm in love with hedgehogs.
And I got this adorable 3D puzzle from Michael's.
I'm so obsessed that it's ridiculous.

Boxes are my best friend: Tips to organizing your jewelry

Given that I'm extremely neat {okay, borderline overly OCD}, I decided to share a few tips to organizing jewelry.

If you hoard jewelry like I do,
If you live in a crowded city and have limited space like I do,
you'll love these tips.

1. Boxes are your best friend.
Pick up some shallow boxes with compartments (I've used bead organizers from the craft store and ice cube trays in the past). Compartments make it easier to organize your jewelry based on occasion, style, or whatever way you want to categorize. Compartments also keep earrings from getting mixed up and necklaces from getting tangled.
Got your boxes? On to step 2.

2. Divide your jewelry into categories.
I divide my jewelry into categories: necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings.
And of course since I'm OCD, I then divide them into occasion and style.
By dividing your jewelry into categories, you make it easier on yourself when deciding what to wear when you're in a rush.
Got it divided? Time for step 3.

3. If you're overwhelmed, inspire yourself.
Buy a vintage trinket box or transform an elegant frame into a vanity tray.
With a little inspiration, you can put your most treasured pieces on a pedestal.
I put a fun print inside of a frame and used it as a tray to hold my glasses and favorite necklace.
I bought a trinket box at a thrift store to hold my most-used earrings.
The possibilities are endless. Sometimes all you need is a little inspiration.

Now get to organizing!

3 New Items!

I made three new scarves that are now for sale on my etsy (shopzialulu)! I'm so proud of them.

Kinda fitting given that it's SNOWING in Chicago today.. yeah.. in April. Gotta love this city.

On another note, I have some serious organization tips that I need to share with the world :)
